10 Mar 2009: Doris R. Herman, 96, died 1:40 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late William F. Herman. She was born February 23, 1913, in Hagerstown, Md., a daughter of the late Franklin and Lydia (Shipley) Winters. Doris had 25 years of service as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at the York Hospital. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church; Conewago Garden Club; Dover Farm Women; and Dover AARP. Doris is survived by a son, Phillip G. Herman of Dover; a daughter, Carole J. King of Dover; grandsons, Scott Herman, Jeff Herman, and Anthony White; granddaughter, Michelle White; and a sister, Pheobe Watson of Williamsport, MD. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Ranney and Lois Winters. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Church , 950 W. Market St., York. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. [York Daily Record]
