She was born August 9, 1926, in Carmichaels, Pa., a daughter of the late Israel and Irma (Debolt) Barclay.
Mrs. Hoge was a Presbyterian and was a member of the Harley Owners Group (H. O. G.) for many years. She and her husband, John traveled the country on their Harley. The couple owned and operated Hoge's Dairy Farm in Carmichaels for many years before opening Hoge's Dairy Bar from 1960 to 1972. In 1968, Mr. and Mrs. Hoge established Hoge's Mobile Home Court and in 1972, began Hoge's Mobile Sales. Mrs. Hoge retired in 1982 when she and her husband moved to Florida for the Winters. While in Florida, her love of life was enjoying the various Disney Theme Parks. Mrs. Hoge was an honorable, dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband, John Hoge, Jr. died October 27, 1988.
Surviving are a son, John Leroy Hoge, V.M.D. of Goldsboro, N. C.; a daughter, Sandy K. Hoge of Carmichaels; a granddaughter, McKenzie Alice Eaton of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sisters, Edna Miller of Dunn's Station, Washington County, Pa., Clair Hathaway of Carmichaels and Martha Metroko of Riverside, Cal., several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and her caregivers, Barb Davies, Opal Haring and Angie Celli. Deceased are a grandson, Robert Kyle Eaton; three brothers, William H. Barclay, Charles "Chuggy" Barclay and Joseph "Jack" Hathaway and three sisters, Ruth Hall, Alma Barclay and Mary Marjorie Cooper.
Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich Funeral Director, Carmichaels, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008 in the funeral home with Pastor R. Scott Teets officiating.
Entombment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (for breast cancer), 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
