Madeline McCollum, 99, formerly of Hazel Street, New Castle, died at 8:35 p.m. Jan 5, 1995, in the Mennonite Home in Lancaster, Pa. She was born Nov. 7, 1895, in Volant to Elmer E. and Laura Anderson Rice, both deceased. She was married to Charles C. McCollum, who died May 4, 1984. Mrs. McCollum was a former member Northminster Presbyterian Church and belonged to Wimodausis. She is surviving by three daughters, Mrs. Thomas W. (Helen) McCormick of Crafton, Md., Mrs. Lyle E. (Joanne) Gill of Lititz, Pa., and Mrs. Edward D. (Janet) Gilmore of Austintown, Ohio; 5 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Northminster Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Andrew Jillson will officiate, assisted by the rev. John W. Sloat, a retired minister. Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road.
