Mrs. Ada Miley Barnett, Zanesville's first woman poll worker, died at 3:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Elmhurst Rest home at Westerville after a lingering illness. She had formerly made her home on Galigher street.
Mrs. Barnett was a native of Noble county and was the daughter of James and Hattie Morrison Miley.
She was a member of St John's Lutheran church.
Mrs. Barnett, a Democrat, was the first woman poll worker in Zanesville. She was also a member of the Aid for the Aged board in 1936.
Her husband, Charles, died in 1940.
Surviving are a son, Miley Hellyer, Sr., of Columbus; and three grandchildren, Miley Jr., Shirley and James, all of Columbus; a sister Mrs. Freda Allen of Sonora; two brothers, Guy O. Miley of Seridan street and I. J. Miley of Greenwood avenue.
The body was removed to Hearing-Bryan-DeLong funeral home.
Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday night at the funeral home. Rev. Herbert W. Veler will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 until 9 o'clock tonight and from 2 until 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock Tuesday.
