Aged Dunbar Man Hit By Car, Killed
85-Year-Old Gibson Bryner Is Victim

A car struck and killed a Dunbar man last evening off Route 119 near Franklin Cemetery. Gibson Bryner, 85, was pronounced dead at the scene by F. Todd Burhans of Dunbar, deputy coroner. State Police said the victim was walking along the Dunbar Rd., near the Route 119 intersection when the mishap occurred. They said he was in the process of crossing the road when struck by the car driven by Donald L. Felton, 23, also of Dunbar. The victim suffered head and chest injuries and compound fractures of both legs. The mishap occurred on a sharp curve.

Mr. Bryner was a former coal miner and a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Bryner is survived by his widow, Alberta; four sons, Wayne, Pittsburgh; Kenneth, Salem, N. J.; Ernest, Connellsville; David, Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Stella Cunningham and Mrs. Edna May, both of Connellsville; Mrs. Mabel Ollison, Brooklyn, N. Y.; three brothers and a sister.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar, were incomplete late this morning. Burial took place in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, PA
