Johnny Nerren 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 18, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret Wright Nerren; his two devoted daughters, Sharon Nerren and Jan Carrier; and his in-law family, Thelma Wright, Ruby Page, and Bob and Nita Wright. At an early age, he and his mother moved to Nashville to live with his sister, Florence Moss. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy and Marines in the South Pacific, in the medical corps. Johnny was a faithful Christian. He received the Lord as his personal Savior shortly before his marriage, and he served faithfully as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed many years with his fishing buddies, John Bertrand and Ben Chipley. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church, Trinitarian Bible Society, and the American Legion. He retired from MLGW after 28 years of service. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel, and the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, also at the funeral home. The interment will be in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family expresses grateful appreciation for the care provided by the staff at Methodist Hospital Germantown, 3rd Floor South.
