Mr. Cloud was stricken at 4:30 p.m. yesterday while working in his wheat field. His daughter summoned his brother-in-law, B. W. Ingram, who started with him to see a Rule doctor but he died en route.
Son of the late Joe E. Cloud and Mrs. Cloud of Rule, he was born in Coryell county and came here with his parents in 1900.
Survivors include his wife and mother; a daughter; a son, Capt. Joe B. Cloud with the 78th division in Germany; two brothers, E. J. And Joe W. Cloud of Rule; and two sisters, Mrs. Willie Geer of Rule and Mrs. C. D. Leon of Rotan. One son, Lt. Merle, has been officially declared dead after being missing in air action over Germany since Dec. 11, 1943. His youngest son, Harold, died of polio July 19, 1943.
