Mrs. Carl (Mabel) Neese, 88, longtime Stanhope area resident, died Thursday evening at the Stratford Care Center where she had been a resident for the past two months. She had been in ill health for the past four months.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. David Burright officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.
Minnie Mabel Wilson, daughter of Ben and Edith Wills Wilson, was born Oct. 17, 1890 at Havana, Ill., and was educated in the Liberty Center school south of Blairsburg.
She was married April 30, 1912 to Carl Neese and the couple resided on the Neese family farm for five years and then moved to a farm six miles northeast of Stanhope. Mr. Neese preceded her in death in February of 1959, and she then moved from the farm to Stanhope where she had since resided.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Verne Neese of Webster City, Wayne Neese of Jewell and Mrs. Lester (Madge) McCoskey of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Willis Wilson of Marshall, Minn.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Darlene Ann Neese; two brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of the Christian church of Stanhope.
