Elizabeth Sumner, 87, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages. Ms. Sumner was born in Spartanburg, SC, she lived in Pensacola before moving to The Villages in June 2008. She was retired from Chemstrand. Ms. Sumner was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Pensacola, but attended New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Perry L. Sumner, Sr. in June of 2008 and a grandson, Vence Perry in 2004. Survivors include daughters, Mary Ann Long (Windell) of Molino, FL, and Sandra Ciampini (Gene) of Cornelia, GA; son, Lee Sumner (Elaine) of The Villages, FL; sisters, Jaime Masters, Cora Ledford and Lucille Robinson all of Asheville, NC; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchild and 1 great great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
