From FAG contributor MLPBailey;
Francis Clarke wrote his will at Charleston, South Carolina, on 16 August 1786, six days before his death. He named his wife Alice, son William, and daughters Hannah and Mary. His wife and friends Robert Cochrane and Thomas Cochrane were named Executors. He asked that his estate be kept intact until each child reached age 21, or until the daughters married. At that time he directed that his wife receive one-third, with the remainder divided among the three children.
