August Strade Passes Away
After a year of illness, August Strade, 73, passed away at his home near Millhome Monday at 4:45 a.m. Death was attributed to the infirmities of old age.
The deceased was born Nov. 2, 1858, in the town of Schleswig. He was united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1884 to Miss Wilhelmina Drake, the couple locating on a farm near Louis Corners. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. George (Ida) Leonard of Rockville; two sons, Herman on the homestead at Louis Corners and Otto of Kiel; two brothers, Henry of Hilbert and Theodore; and three sisters, Mrs. John Pfister and Mrs. Ernst Willsing of Sheboygan and Mrs. Frederick Uplagger of Plymouth. Seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, the Rev. A. George Schmid of New Holstein performing the last rites. Burial was in the Union cemetery.
