Michael Strassmann, one of the oldest settlers of Town Schleswig,
is mourning the loss of an 18 yr. old son.

A son of Michael Strassman of Schleswig stepped into a bucket of a well which
was being cleaned on Monday last. The crank was broken and the bucket could not
be stopped in its descent. The fall was 50 feet and the boy is now in critical
condition.

(This appears to be Johnny as William lived until 1952. He must have survived
this incident because he died in October of 1896 of diptheria)
