CHARLOTTE, N.C.: Mrs. Lucille "Mom Lucille" Lachicotte Spearman, 82, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, N.C., surrounded by family after having a stroke.

After raising three children to school age, Mrs. Spearman began teaching kindergarten at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, and after 10 years went to Charlotte Country Day School where she was a teacher's assistant for 26 years in the lower school.
