John Sr was born in Schuylkill County, Pa.
He married Elizabeth Haffe of Upper Mahantango Twp Schuylkill Co. Pa.
Children of John S and Elizabeth Haffe: Abraham Kunselman 1818-1887 (buried in Salem Cemetery); Levina Kunselman ca 1822-1825; Rebecca Kunselman ca 1832.

John Sr married Mary Magdalena (Schrecengost) Ferringer 1792-1846. Mary Magdalena was the daughter of John Schrecengost & Anna Catharine Stutsman. Born 6 Apr 1792 in near Erdman, PA. Died 1846 in Redbank Twp., Armstrong Co., Pa. Mary Magdalena was first married to George Ferringer. George died in Lower Mahantongo Twp. Schuylkill Co. Pa. leaving Mary Magdalena with 4 children under 14 years of age. John Sr. marries the widow Mary Magdalena and raises her children.

Israel Kunselman March 10, 1833-August 21, 1899 is John Sr and Mary Magdalena Schrecengost Ferringer Kunselman's son. John Sr.'s 2nd wife Mary Magdalena dies in 1846, John Sr's brother Philip dies in 1846 and then John Sr marries his brother Philip's widow (Magdalena Otto-3rd wife).

Son Israel marries Christina Cribbs and they have three children:
Charles Edward Kunselman 1860-1946;
John C Kunselman 1864-1950;
Harvey Kunselman 1868-1950.

John Sr is buried beside son Israel and daughter-in-law Christina.

Daughter Rebecca (Kunselman) Hetrick's son Nathen is buried in same lot to the left of Grandfather John's stone.
