In Charlemont Vital Records, there is an "Aaron Gould Beckwith, son of Hannah", born Mar 15,1806 in Charlemont. In the IGI, this son is listed as a son of "Jonah Beckwith and Hannah Deming". They were married in 1787 and had children from 1790 to 1811. It is therefore conceivable he was born out of wedlock and changed his name from Beckwith as an adult, OR he was adopted by a Gould family in the area. He is listed as Aaron Gould in censuses for Charlemont repeatedly from 1840-1880. One also wonders whether he is connected as a namesake to Aaron Gould who moved his large family from Charlemont to West Virginia in 1808.
