July 18, 1916, at her home in Lyons, Wis., and funeral services were held Thurs. morning in St. Joseph's church. Mary Melkert was born Jan. 11, 1844, in Burlington. The first few years of her married life were spent at Waterford; later she went to Burlington, but the last 48 years she has been a resident of Lyons. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband and seven children, Mrs. Lizzie Heiligenthal of Waterford; Mrs. Emma Bockhop of LaGrange, Ill.; Mrs. Minnie Miller, of Fox River; Henry Hallen, Mrs. Annie Rieck, Mrs. Josie Vorpagel, and Mrs. Mary Loomis, all of Lyons. Also three sisters, Mrs. Dena Mayer and Josephine Jacobs of Burlington and Mrs. Frances Kennedy, of Berkeley, Calif.
