He served in the US Navy for four years during WWII. He retired as a driller after 32 years with Freeport Sulpher in Garden Island Bay. He was Catholic. Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his parents Otto Hebert and Amanda Vincent Hebert, his sisters, Isabelle St. Amant, Helen Massey, his brothers, Loadice Hebert and Leo Hebert. He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Hebert of Ocean Springs, two sons, Otto Paul Hebert and wife, Sherry Diane, of New Orleans, La., and Ronald James Hebert and wife, Pam, of Ocean Springs, a sister, Mary Steen of Waveland, MS., a brother, Harry L. Hebert of Ocean Springs, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 17,2003, from 1-3 PM, with a 3 PM chapel service, Howard Avenue Chapel, Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 6358, Gulfport, MS., 39506.
