The Plainfield Messenger, May 4, 1939:

"Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, May 2, at the Danville Methodist Church for Mrs. Bessie Wells Barnett who died Sunday at her home on Road 36 east of Danville. Survivors are the husband, a retired railway mail clerk; sons, Ben F. Barnett, Louisville, Kentucky, Robert C. Barnett, Danville, Indiana, Richard W. Barnett, Champaign, Illinois; sisters, Mrs. Byron Hockensmith, Speedway, Mrs. Flora Chapin, Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Woodburn Masson, Indianapolis; brother, Merritt Wells, York, Pennsylvania, and grandchildren, Max, Anita and Polly Barnett, Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Barnett was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Merritt Wells of Indianapolis
