Robert L. Maples, 74, retired farmer and life-long resident of Highlandville, died at 8:20 p.m. Friday at his home. He was a member of the Highlandville Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Elsie, one son, Verl J. Maples, 510 Mt. Vernon, Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Sallie Barber, Ozark; three grandchildren; one brother, Austin Maples of Highlandville; and a sister, Mrs. Lona Sims, Highlandville. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Highlandville Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Blevins officiating. Burial was in Jones Cemetery under direction of Harris of Nixa.
