Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth GUYER, 63, R.R. 4, Rochester, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday (July 8, 1964) in Woodlawn hospital, where she had been a patient for two weeks. Mrs. Guyer had been in failing health for the past several years and seriously ill for one month.
Born May 18, 1901 in Miami County, she was the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth COFFING WELLER. She was married in Miami County Dec. 27, 1922 to Lamont GUYER, who survives. Mr. Guyer attended Manchester College and had taught school in this area. She had lived in Fulton county for the past 43 years, coming from Miami County. She was a member of the Mud Creek Chapel Church of Christ, the Community Circle and the 4-H club.
Surviving with the husband are four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Mary) OVERMYER, Jr., R.R. 3, Rochester; Mrs. Florence PARTRIDGE, Rochester; Mrs. John (Marjorie) KISTLER and Mrs. Clyde (Normalee) WHALEN, both Indianapolis; two sons, Harvey [GUYER], Mishawaka, and Delbert [GUYER], Ojai, Cal.; seventeen grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Mildred ZIMMERMAN, Denver, Ind.; Mrs. Ray (Bernice) SHELTON and Mrs. Helen TALBOTT both of Rochester; Mrs. Lester (May) HECKATHORN and Mrs. Earl (Loreen) NICKELL, both of R.R. 4, Rochester; two brothers, Robert WELLER, Fremont, O., and Harry WELLER, Marion; and nieces and nephews. A daughter and a granddaughter preceded in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev.Daniel SLAYBAUGH officiating. Burial will be in the Mud Creek Cemetery, seven miles southeast of Rochester. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
