Harvey Earl GUYER, 76, of 23274 Century Drive, died at 1:25 p.m. Monday (Jan. 12, 2004) in the emergency room of Elkhart General Hospital.
Mr. Guyer was born March 25, 1927, in Fulton County to Charles L. and Ruth E. (Weller) Guyer, now both deceased. He married Diane E. Castello on April 30, 1982, in Elkhart. She survives with two sons, Randall W. (Victoria) of Middlebury and Ronald D. (Holly) of Elkhart; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Debra) McArthur and Mrs. James (Janet) Ferro, both of Elkhart, Mrs. Jay (Jennifer) Rudynski of Niles and Barbara Stump of Mishawaka; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Dawn) Blasen of Dubuque, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Delbert (Joyce) Guyer of Sun City, Ariz.; and three sisters, Florence Partridge of Rochester and Mrs. John (Marjorie) Kistler and Norma Lee Reynolds, both of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Overmyer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and Crematory, where the 10 a.m. Friday service will be conducted. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. Mr. Guyer retired in 1995 as a toll collector for the Indiana Department of Highways, where he worked for 19 years. He graduated in 1945 from Kewanna High School and attended Purdue University for two years in West Lafayette. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed working in his yard. Memorials may be given to American Lung Association.
