Mrs. Elder was born in 1894 at Lincoln, Alabama, daughter of Warren and Alice Bell.
She was married to Charles Herbert Elder on December 15, 1917 and he preceded her in death June 17, 1943.
Mr. and Mrs. Elder came to Olney August 14, 1933 from Etna Green, Indiana and operated the Elder House on South Elliott street for 29 years. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church and always an active member.
She is survived by two children; Mrs. Wendell (Avis) Hull and John Elder both of Olney. There are 7 grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn E. Marks on March 8, 1957 and by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
