Immigrated from Liverpool to Quebec, ultimately coming to Washington State c. 1891. Manager of Everett's original Monte Cristo Hotel, followed by decades as a timber magnate. He served a term in the Washington State House of Representatives (District 41, 1905-1907). He was a participant in the events of November 5, 1916, known as the Everett Massacre, when business interests joined law enforcement to fight off arriving IWW members arriving in Everett to support striking shingle workers.
