George Russell "Buddy" Aday, 78, of Tuscumbia, Ala., died Aug. 29, 2006. Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel, with burial at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Eric Brown. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Opal Aday; daughters, Patsy (Billy) George, Tuscumbia, Sandra Aday, Muscle Shoals, Anita (David) Scott, Tuscumbia, Janice (Danny) Pace, Tuscumbia; brother Guy Aday Jr., Muscle Shoals; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Raymond Aday, Donnie Balentine, Billy Aday, Joey Riley, Keith James, and Anthony Aday. Honorary pallbearers will be J. B. Stewart and Tommy Graham. Mr. Aday was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Sr. and Lila Aday; brothers, Howard and Collis Aday; sister, Dorothy Balentine; granddaughter, Alicia Lackey. Mr. Aday was a member of the Baptist church, and was owner of Aday Construction Co. Colbert Memorial is directing.
