Rose Lopez Tuminello

A devoted mother and grandmother who brightened the world with the garments that she sewed and the flowers that she planted, she passed away at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Lakewood Quarters Nursing Home, Baton Rouge. She was 93, a resident of Brusly and native of Iberville Parish. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, on Thursday, April 9, from 9 a.m. until Rite of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Matthew Dupre. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by a daughter, Margaret Tuminello Cropper and husband Lance Cropper, of Brusly; three sisters, Mary Lee Lewis, Cecile Acosta and Ruth Acosta; two brothers, Albert Jr. and Augustine Lopez; three grandchildren, Terri Tullier Gauthé and husband Tod, Amanda Tullier Pitre and husband Jean Henri, and Billy Tullier and wife Michelle Zito Tullier; seven great-grandchildren, Karlie Gauthé, Tod Gauthé II, Macie and Mya Pitre and Tyler, Trent and Tate Tullier; and and two stepgrandchildren, Devin Cropper and wife Kelli, and Brian Cropper and wife Charey, and their families. Preceded in death by her spouse, Sam J. Tuminello; parents, Albert Sr. and Elizabeth Ourso Lopez; stepmother, Leontine Boudreaux Lopez; five sisters, Catherine Banker, Flavia Moran, Lydia Falgoust, Angelina Savoie and Carmelite Rivet; and six brothers, Harry, Joseph, Rodolph, Wilfred, Edward and Robert Lopez. She was a member of the Council on Aging in Port Allen. Special thanks to Lakewood Quarters Nursing Home and Hospice of Baton Rouge.
