Pioneer Homesteader Buried Last Week
Noah Lee, one of the pioneer homesteaders of the Coffee Creek section, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on January 5th, at St. Joseph's hospital in Lewistown, where he had been taken the previous day for medical treatment, after having been a sufferer for several years with cancer; having last summer had an arm amputated for that trouble.
He was born on the Atlantic seaboard, August 5, 1860, and came west to Missouri when 16 years old. In 1885 he went to Kansas, where on March 12, 1888, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Secest, who survives him. In 1913 they came to Fergus county, Montana, and located near Coffee Creek where they engaged in ranching until a few years ago when the infirmities of advancing age compelled them to retire, but they continued to reside at that place.
In addition to the wife, he is survived by two sons, Roy A. Lee of Kirkland, Wash., and Ray W. Lee of Sunburst, Mont., 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two children died in infancy.
