Barbara Anne Sanderson, 51, passed away September 16, 2003 after a battle with cancer.
She was born October 31, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hugh C. and Beth Cannon Brand. She attended Skyline High and graduated in nursing from BYU. Barbara married Richard Kimball Sanderson on December 21, 1973 in the Manti LDS Temple. They have five children: Stacy (Seth) Atkinson, Kimberly Sanderson, Eric (Melissa) Sanderson, Bethany (Michael) Lindley, Taylor Sanderson, and one granddaughter, Kylie.
Barbara worked for 21 years in the nursery at Cottonwood Hospital and developed many dear friendships there. She was talented at beautifying her home through gardening and a variety of crafts. She was an avid reader and was devoted to lifelong learning. She was gifted at building friendships and showing her love to all those around her.
Barbara was an active member of the LDS church. She served in many leadership positions, including presidencies in the Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society organizations.
Barbara is survived by her husband, her children, her granddaughter, her parents, and her brother Steven
(Veronica) Brand.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 11 am in the Sandy East Stake Center, 9636 South 1700 East in Sandy, Utah. Friends called on Friday, September 19, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy and at the church on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
