Boggs - Watson

Last Sunday afternoon at about 2 o'clock our venerable postmaster and Miss Alice S. Watson, were united in marriage at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Howell in Newcastle. The affair was a quiet one, only the relatives had a few immediate friends of the contracting parties being present. Rev. G. M. Richmond pronounced the words that united the happy couple in the holy bonds of matrimony. Mrs. Boggs is an aunt of Mrs. F.H. Howell and is a charming and estimable lady, while Mr. Boggs is a well known citizen of this part of the State, having been closely identified with the interest of Placer County since pioneer days. He was at one time Sheriff of this County and is a present postmaster of Newcastle. The bride was the recipient of many pretty presents. They left on the 3:30 overland amid showers of rice which the crowd assembled at the depot were not the least bit backward about distributing where it would do the most good. Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Boggs will reside at the Boggs residence in Newcastle. The best wishes of the community go with them and their many friends throughout the County wish them happiness during the remainder of their days. - NEWS
