INDIAN WAR VETERAN

David Granger was the son of Eleazer B. and Martha M. (Woodman) Granger. He was born January 12, 1848 in New York. He was five foot six inches tall and had a fair complexion.

MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted August 7, 1866 at Troy, New York. Assigned to Company "H" of 7th U.S. Cavalry. Discharged as a Private on August 7, 1871 in Nashville, Tennessee. Enlisted again on August 19, 1871 in Buffalo, New York. Assigned to Battery L, 4th U.S. Artillery. Discharged as Private on August 19, 1876 in Presidio, California. His third enlistment was there on August 19, 1876 in Company "L" of 4th US. Artillery. Discharged as Private on August 19, 1881 at Fort Point, California.

He moved to Washington state in 1881. He had never married and lived in Yakima in 1921 when he applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home. He had previously lived at the Orting Soldiers' Home in 1920.

Mr. Granger died November 12, 1924 at the Washington Veterans' Home. He was 76 years old.
