FREDERICK OEHLER

Frederick Oehler, a son of Frederick Oehler and wife, was born at Pilot Knob, Mo., March 26, 1861, and entered into rest at his home in Bismarck at 4:30 a.m., August 19, 1947, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 23 days.

Mr. Oehler had made his home in Bismarck for the past 58 years being engaged in the tailoring business for the most of that time. He has been a member of the board of directors for the Bank of Bismarck for many years and has taken an active part in civic and political affairs in the county and this community. He was ill for only a short time, having attended church on Sunday previous to his death on Tuesday morning. Despite his advanced age, Mr. Oehler was active and alert and could be seen going about duties daily at the Bank of Bismarck and attending to other interests about town.

On December 28, 1882 he was married to Josephine Warnecke at Cincinnati, Ohio, and to this union ten children were born. He came to Bismarck in 1889 and made his home here until death. His wife and four children preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, six children: Henry and Miss Bertha Oehler of Bismarck, Mo., Misses Mary and Anna Oehler, and Lena (Mrs. Wm. Wagner) of St. Louis, and Edith (Mrs. Weseloh) of Arlington, Minn., 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Bismarck Lutheran Church on Friday, August 22, 1947, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. H. Halter officiating. Interment in the Lutheran Cemetery.
