Mrs. Bertie Lee Phillips, 76, died at the Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon, Sunday morning, February 13. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Mark's Methodist Church Tuesday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. George Phillips. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Phillips lived on Route 2. She was born in Taylor County, daughter of Martha Bowen and Robert Eads. In 1909 she was married to Lawrence W. Phillips, who survives her with seven children: Fletcher Phillips and Mrs. Mattie Pickett, Campbellsville; Merlin Phillips, Rt. 2; Mrs. Palmer (Vernetta) LaReche, Kankakee, Ill.; Mrs. Fred (Louise) Russell, Rt. 2; Robert "Bobby" Phillips; and Henry (Sonny) Phillips, Gloushen, Ohio. Also surviving are one brother, Herbert C. Eads, Fontana, California; one sister, Mrs. William (Sally) Mullins, Rt. 2, City; two half-sisters, Mrs. Frank (Naomi) Thilmony, R.R., Buckley, Illinois and Mrs. Pauline Ash, Louisville; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Two children, Howard and Norma Jean Phillips precede her in death.
