FRANKLIN -- Marshell L. Cornwell, 75, of Franklin died at 12:26 a.m. Oct. 6, 1999, at Franklin-Simpson Memorial Hospital.

The Simpson County native was a retired employee of Potter & Brumfield Manufacturing, a Simpson County Sheriff's Department bailiff, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Franklin Church of Christ, American Legion Post 62, where he was 3rd District commander, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5706. He was a son of the late Henry Libbon Cornwell and Belma Lee Rutherford Cornwell.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation is in progress today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Mae Reagan Cornwell; a daughter, Brenda Bennett of Louisville; a brother, Jim Cornwell of Franklin; two sisters, Margaret Eubanks of Franklin and Betty Bush of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.
