Funeral services were held for C. Barton Bergstedt, 83 of Lander, Wy., former resident of Savage on Tuesday, July 29, 1989 at 10 a.m. at Fulkerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Charlotte Sickbert officiating.
C. Barton Bergstedt was born April 7, 1903, in Columbia Falls, Mt., to parents Carl and Anna Bergstedt. As a child the family moved to Savage, where Barton grew up and attended schools. After high school Barton attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Nebraska. He worked for the Judith Basin Branch of the Agriculture Experiment Station in Moccasin, Mont., before moving to Havre, where he worked at the Northern Montana Branch Station, On June 22, 1929 he was united in marriage to Katherine Larson in Havre. They moved to Logan, Utah, where Barton attended the university. They later moved to S.D. where he worked as an appraiser with the United States Department of Agriculture, at Hot Spring and on the Denver, Colo. Eventurally they bought a farm near Wiggins, Colorado. They sold the farm and bought a farm in Lander, Wy., which they operated for 24 years, retiring in 1971. His wife Katherine died December 19, 1985.
Barton loved to fish and enjoyed being around good cattle. He also loved to travel. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lander, Wy.
Barton died July 24, 1986n at Lander, Wy. Survivors include one brother, Landin of Savage and one sister Mrs Robert Seeve, also of Savage. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and his wife.
