OBITUARY :
HAND OF DEATH - REMOVED CITIZEN WHO HAS LIVED IN LIMA FOR MANY YEARS.

WILLIAM SHOCKEY, 75 years of age, died at his home,1117 south Central avenue, Tuesday night about eight o'clock, after an illness extending over more than a week, although for some time he has not been in the best of health.

Deceased had lived in Lima practically all his life, having settled here with his parents when only a year or so old. He was always a pleasure to hear him recount the tales of days gone by, which his vivid memory permitted. He was probably the oldest resident of Lima who has lived in the city so long. He was born in Champaign county.

The deceased is survived by a widow, three daughters and five sons, all of whom reside near Lima. In the death of husband and father, the community loses a good man and the family a loving and devoted relative.

Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Thursday morning at the family home, conducted by Rev. C. C. Kennedy, pastor of Grace Methodist Episcopal church, on the south side. The body will be laid to rest in the Fairmount cemetery, ten miles southeast of Lima.
