Anchorage resident Radmila Nikolic, 63, died March 17, 2006, at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Visitation was at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St., with a service. Burial was at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Nikolic was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Jazince, Yugoslavia. She moved to Alaska in July 1984. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Her family wrote: "(We feel the) loss of our loving wife, our mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In our hearts, the mom we love is never really gone. Her spirit, her legacy and our memories of her live on. In so many ways, our mother always made a difference. ... May her memory and the very real sense of her presence comfort us now. "Mom leaves a legacy of love and strength which many of us who were touched by her will always know. ... We miss her and we miss what she stood for. She will always be in our hearts."
Survivors include her husband, Angelko Nikolic of Anchorage; daughters, Carolina Holmes of St. Louis, Mo., Jackie Bennett of Raleigh, N.C.; sons, Angelo Nikolic, Tom Nikolic and Chad Nikolic of Anchorage; brothers, Velija Stojanovich of Arlington, Va., Ratko Lekic of Solon, Ohio, Sokol Lekic of North Port, Fla., Boris Lekic of France, and Voja Lekic; sisters, Ruska Sencic of Columbus, Ohio, Mitra Lekic and Blagica Stojanovic of Yugoslavia; granddaughters, Amber Nikolic of Seattle, Jennifer Klaus of Raleigh, Mikayla Nikolic of Anchorage, Brittanie Holmes of St. Louis; grandsons, Brandon Homes of St. Louis and Angelo Nikolic Jr. of Anchorage.
