Daughter of Abiel Shurtleff (3rd son of William Shurtleff) and Lydia Barnes. Granddaughter of pilgrims William Shurtleff and Elizabeth Lettice, Jonathan Barnes and Elizabeth Hedge.

She was the wife of Barnabas Atwood, the son of Deacon Nathaniel Atwood and Mary Morey. They were married 28 Feb 1722 in Plympton and had the following children:.
