Enoch was the son of Polly Higbee and Thomas Sanborn. He and his brother Justus and sister Lodema lived in Portland, Michigan.
Enoch married Fanny Maria Ingram in Ionia County, Michigan on Sept 22. 1835. He was the father of Anna, Mary and Norman Sandborn.
Sandborn enlisted on August 18, 1862. He was enlisted into Company D, Michigan 5th on August 27, 1862.
He mustered in and out on on August 15, 1864.

Following the death of Fannie, Enoch married Charlotte Ellis on Dec 20, 1867.
