Phyllis Adams Blanchette

Phyllis was born in Gordonsville, Virginia, on June 29, 1934.

She passed away Friday, May 1, 2009, to meet her Lord and to be reunited with loved ones that have previously passed.

Phyllis was the daughter of the late James Carroll Adams and Mary Elizabeth Smith Adams.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Noel Blanchette.

She is survived by three daughters, Patty Ignaszewski and her husband, Eric, of Barboursville, Cynthia Deal of Crozet, and Judy Marks and her husband, Bobby, of Fluvanna.

She is also survived by two sons, Walter Deal Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Stanardsville and Chris Blanchette of Ruckersville.

Phyllis was blessed to have five wonderful grandchildren, Travis Miles, Matthew Ignaszewski, Travis Allen, Ryan Blanchette, and Schuyler Deal.

She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Ann O'Coin of Rochester, New York, Carol Crawford of Barboursville, and Elizabeth Shaw of Powhatan. And of course her faithful companion, Miss Mary.

Phyllis loved people and loved life. She was a kind hearted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and working with her second family at the Montpelier gift shop. She liked to watch Jeopardy and play card games on her computer. She also enjoyed collecting Angels and hummingbird figurines. She was a fun and affectionate person who made everyone feel loved.

We have been touched by her love and will carry her with us always. We will miss her smile, her touch and her laugh. We love you "sweet pea"!

Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Preddy's Funeral Home in Gordonsville, Virginia.
