John Barron was born in 1763 to Archibald and Elizabeth Ingram Barron. Married Jane Duncan before 1789. John Barron was the executor of her parent's estate (John and Jane Duncan) in 1790 and in these records Jane Barron is listed as the wife of John. These are the names and birthdates of their children (taken from a family Bible):

John and Jane Duncan Barron were awarded guardianship of Jane's little sister Mary Duncan, a minor at the time of her parent's death. (Court records dated 1790). Mary Duncan and Polly Barron have been cited as the same person in some family histories. Polly Barron died at 17 and is buried next to her grandmother, Elizabeth Ingram Barron, in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery.

John Barron served in the Revolutionary War at the age of 19 in the South Carolina Militia,during the summer of 1782. His service and linage has been preserved in the archives of the National Societies; Sons of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Revolution.
