Lawrence John Koch, 81, of 749 Evans St., Wabash, IN, died Friday, May 22, 1998 at Wabash Skilled Care Center of Wabash. He was born Aug. 22, 1916 at Urbana, IN to William and Charlotte (Wolf) Koch. He married Audra Biehl in Urbana, IN on Sept. 22, 1936.
He was retired from Fisher Body in Marion in 1978 after 22 years. He then worked as the caretaker at Honeywell House in Wabash for 10 years, and also farmed. He was a member of the Urbana Yoke Parish.
Survivors include his wife, Audra, of Wabash; daughter, Doretta (Larry) Neal of Lafontaine; sons Ed Koch of Urbana and Keith Koch of Roann; three sisters, Alice (Paul) Krauskopf of Schaumburg, IL, Charlotte (Russell) Eisenhart of Fort Wayne, and Ethel Marie (Dorlan) Wagner of North Manchester; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Two daughters, a son, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 25, 1998 at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, Wabash, with Pastor Ken Parsons officiat-ing. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery of Urbana. Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Society or to the Urbana Yoke Parish. Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
