Mrs. J. W. Bing, 92, Rome Rte. 9, died Wednesday in a Rome nursing home following an extended illness.
The former Pearl Alexander, Mrs. Bing was born in Floyd County Feb. 2, 1884 daughter of the late Benjamin and Catherine Raper Alexander. Mrs. Bing was the eldest member of Little Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son D. Jackson Bing of Rome; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde Ware, Mrs. C. L. Martin, Mrs. Herman Manning all of Rome, and Mrs. C. H. McDonald of Decatur; several grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today at Little Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Pilgrim officiating. Interment followed in Beech Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Donald Bing, Lloyd McDonald, Michael Manning, Gary Adair, Jerry Childers and Ray Baker.
Daniel's Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
