Milton Irvin Gibson was born December 26, 1932 in Clayton, New Mexico to Irvin and Voyd (Parmenter) Gibson. Milton was a veteran of the United State Army. He and his family made their home in Seiling, OK and later lived in northeast Oklahoma. Milton received his Master's degree at Northwest OSU in Alva, OK. He taught grade school in Kansas and Oklahoma before retiring. Milton Gibson departed this life on Monday, December 15, 2008 at his home in Muskogee, OK, just ten days before his 76th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Gibson; daughter, Heather Gibson; son, Donald; brothers Earl, Cecil and Donald and sisters, Kate and Lorene. Survivors include two sons, Milton Gibson of El Paso, TX and Michael Gibson of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Winona Corbett of El Paso, TX; his special friend of nine years, Dolly Tillison; four brothers, Carol Gibson of Medicine Lodge, KS, Gail Gibson of Denver, CO, Calvin Gibson of Wichita, KS and Elvin Gibson of Miami, OK; a sister, Shirley Cunningham of Cherokee, OK; nine grand-children and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service for Milton will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. Officiating will be Pastor Gene Ogle and Pastor Jimmy Essary. On Friday, December 19, 2008 a funeral service will be held at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church in Medicine, Lodge, KS. The Reverend Matt Wilkerson will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge.
