Edward Gould married by 1643 Margaret (_____) Bacon, widow of GEORGE BACON {1635, Hingham}. She died at Hingham 6 or 7 February 1682/3.
They had four children: Hannah, Sarah Cain, Abigail Lyon, & Hannah Hobart.
The list of daughters given above for this immigrant is highly problematic. The baptismal records at this time do not name the parents. There does not, however, seem to be any other Gould family in town at the time to which these girls could have belonged. Jarvis Gould appears to have had only sons, and Robert Gould seems to have been too young to be the father. Also, the baptisms of the last three all appear to have occurred when the girls were about eight to ten years old, an unusual circumstance.George Bacon married (2) between 1635 & 1640, Margaret ____.
They had two children: Peter & Mary.
She married (2) EDWARD GOLD. She died at Hingham on 6 or 7 Feb 1682/3. (The 1st known child of Edward Gold was baptized at Hingham between 12 & 26 Mar 1642/3, between 10 & 11 months after the burial of George Bacon. This seems too early for the widow of George Bacon to have remarried, but no other wife of Edward Gold is known.
