He was born January 21, 1951 to Don F. Winward and Elna Gray Winward in Vernal, Utah.
Married Gayle Ann Robinson on November 30, 1968 and later sealed in Salt Lake Temple on November 8, 1986; she passed away on March 2, 1991. Married and sealed to Peggie Bona on March 11, 1994 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Gaylon enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, camping, was an avid Beatles and NASCAR fan.
Survived by wife, mother, four children: Christina Ziska (Matt), Matthew Winward (Angiee), Ryan Winward (Elisa), Cameron Winward, 12 grandchildren, brothers: Robert Winward (Diana), Clyde Winward (Judy). Preceded in death by daughter Jennifer, father, and brother Jeff Winward.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South. Viewings will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
