Carrie Elizabeth 'Beth' Burleson - JOHNSON CITY

Carrie Elizabeth "Beth" Burleson, 45, cherished daughter of the late David H. Burleson and Mrs. Lucille Woody Burleson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Bristol.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. Beth was an Administrative Assistant at the Asbury Center in Johnson City and Steadman Hill in Kingsport. She was a charter member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church and had been active in CTS and other youth ministries. Beth also was a mentor in Johnson City Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by both her paternal and maternal grandparents: Chester and Sallie Street Burleson and Tom and Carrie Buchanan Woody.

Survivors include: her mother, Lucille Woody Burleson of Johnson City; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, David Burleson, Johnson City, Don and Melissa Burleson of Johnson City, Mike and Brenda Burleson of Johnson City, Terry and Lisa Burleson of Piney Flats. Nieces and nephews; Missi Crowder, Angela Bryant, Jennifer Burleson, Nikki Vanburen, Kelly Weems, Josh Burleson, Haley Burleson, Megan Burleson, Logan Burleson and Matthew Burleson. Great nieces and great nephews; Miranda Vanburen, David Bryant, Alex Vanburen, II, Collin Keesecker, Savannah Reynolds and Cooper Weems.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. at the Grace Free Will Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Curtis Hurt. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 8:00 p.m.

There will be a committal service on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the Morris — Baker Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. to leave in procession. Active pallbearers will be: Josh Burleson, Logan Burleson, Matthew Burleson, Alex Vanburen, Sam Crowder, Doug Weems, Brian Moody and Lance Moody.

Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all churches, family and friends for their generosity and kindness. This includes a special thanks to all the Doctors and caregivers at Wellmont Hospice.
