Her death notice from the Tell City Anzeiger published 27 January 1900 reads (English translation):
"From Cannelton. After a long ailment, Mrs. Amelia Ploch passed away here on Monday at the age of 63 years. The deceased was a respected German lady and liked by all who knew her. Her burial took place on Wednesday from the German Methodist Church to Cliff Cemetery. Peace to her ashes." (Tell City Indiana German Newspaper Items, page 153)
