Caroline Hix was born at Odebolt April 10, 1878. She grew to womanhood in this community and lived here until 1921, when she moved to Storm Lake. Miss Hix first affiliated with the German Methodist church in early girlhood, but later in life she transferred her membership to the English Methodist church. She had been a faithful and generous member through the years.
Her death, resulting from heart trouble, came with tragic suddenness at 3:30 Friday morning, April 16, 1937. Although she had not been in vigorous health for the past year and had been rather closely confined to her home during the winter, no one suspected the seriousness of her condition.
Those surviving are two brothers, Charles J. Hix of Milford and Henry Hix of Odebolt; and one sister, Mrs. Henry Duesenberg of Garner; besides other relatives and friends.
Her father died in October, 1880, and her mother in May, 1927. One brother, Ed, died in March, 1923.
