Charlotte Taylor Richins
along with that of her husband, John Richins of the Willie Handcart Company from Iowa to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1856. Their daughter, Hannah Louisa Richins, whom was one at the time of this journey perished. However, their infant son, Franklin Thornton Richins, survived this winter trek.
