WILLIAM CLARENCE ALVEY SR., 82, of 1108 Salem, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday in Jewish Hospital. He was a native of St. Mary's, Ky., and a retired ironworker for the Snead Architectural Iron Co. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Cecilia Margaret Kippes; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Ames, Mrs. Marie Waddell and Mrs. Mildred Clark; a son, William C. Alvey Jr.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1628 Garland Ave., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The body is at Owen Funeral Home, 2611 Virginia.
