Glen Matlick, son of Judge William R. and Eliza Davidson Matlick, was born in Scotland County, Missouri, January 9, 1876, and died at his home, 5 miles North West of Rutledge, January 16, 1933, age 57 years and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Adah Douglas, January 19th, 1898. To this union was born two children; One daughter Lyda and one son Sidney. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers, Freddy and Homer. He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, his daughter, Mrs. Charley Lingenfelter of Wellsville, Mo, and son Sidney at home; his step-mother Mrs. Ellen Matlick of Rutledge, who was a devoted mother to him, a half-brother Byrl of Burlington, Iowa, and three grandchildren and many relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving father, an honest, industrious and upright citizen. Funeral services were held Tues. afternoon at the Christian Church in Rutledge, conducted by F.P. Burkhart after which the body was laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the town.
